Announcement of the Shortlist for the
2024 Queen Sofía Spanish Institute Translation Prize
The Queen Sofía Spanish Institute (QSSI) announces the shortlist for the 2025 Queen Sofía Spanish Institute Translation Prize, a $10,000 award for the best English translation of a work originally written in Spanish.
The winner of the prize will be announced at the Translation Prize ceremony, this year titled “An Evening of Translation” as the QSSI Translation Prize and the QSSI Inaugural Literary Translation Fellowship will be awarded.
Aimed to support unpublished translators and emerging translators, the $20,000 Inaugural Literary Translation Fellowship and ten $500 honorable mentions will be awarded at the ceremony.
The ceremony will take place at the New York University Espacio de Culturas (NYU KJCC), 53 Washington Square S, New York, NY 10012, on Thursday, November 20th at 7:00pm.
