Lucia Regales, PhD Joins the Cultural Advisory Committee

Lucia Regales, leading cancer scientist, joins the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute Cultural Advisory Committee.


 

NEW YORK, NY – July 21, 2022. The Queen Sofía Spanish Institute (QSSI) has incorporated one new members to its Cultural Advisory Committee Lucia Regales, PhD.

Dr. Regales is a cancer scientist and genomic researcher born and raised in Asturias, Spain. She has worked in leading US cancer centers including Memorial Sloan Kettering, Irving Cancer Center and for leading pharmaceutical companies.  Her current focus is the development of new precision medicine treatments and the identification of new biomarkers for cancer patients. Dr. Regales hold many accolades including the American Association in Cancer Research (AACR) Scholar in Training Research Award, the Women in Cancer Research Scholar Award (AACR), and the Severo Ochoa grant from the Principe de Asturias Foundation.

The Cultural Advisory Committee of the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute gathers leading experts in a variety of disciplines to provide insight and enrichment on programs, grants, and other institutional collaborations that advance our mission. Other members of the Committee include Chef and Restauranteur José Andrés, President of Fundación Callia Carmen Reviriego, and Former Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education Carmen Fariña.
