The Queen Sofía Spanish Institute announces the United States debut of the Royal Academy of History of Spain’s Portal of Hispanic History.
May 16th | Julia Ideson Building | Houston, TX
The Historia Hispánica portal developed by the Royal Academy of History of Spain has amassed the world’s most extensive database of historical figures and events across Hispanic history. Accessible and free to the public, the portal integrates the electronic Biographical Dictionary of Spain, with its more than 50,000 interrelated biographies, and the Chronological Atlas of the History of Spain (ACHE) published in 2009 and since updated, which adds 20,000 historically significant events from 1,350,000 B.C. to the present. Each entry is connected to one another in an easy to use interface, which supports endless connections between historical milestones and the people who made them happen.
This portal supports teachers and students in the areas of American History and World History as it contains hundreds of historical figures and events specifically in the continental United States, and many thousands more across the globe.
The presentation will be followed by a Spanish wine and hors d’oeuvres.
This event is invitation only.
