The Tokyo 2020 Olympics are soon approaching, and the world is waiting with bated breath to view top athletes from their home countries compete on an international stage for an Olympic gold. Spain has a long history at this game, starting with their first delegation in 1900, and over the years Spaniards have won 155 medals for their nation.

A new study by the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute compiles a sample of very common terms in the U.S. with Spanish roots such as “Rodeo”, “Mustang”, “Barbecue” or “Alligator”, among others.
Last week, from June 14-17, members of the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute’s executive team visited Washington, D.C. to meet with different partners and collaborators of the Institute.
