QSSI Inaugurates the Junior Committee

New York, NY – This past Saturday, the QSSI welcomed in our Junior Committee with its inaugural event, a tour of the Met Cloisters exhibition “Spain, 1000–1200: Art at the Frontiers of Faith” led by Junior Committee member and curator of the exhibition, Julia Perratore, followed by a cocktail hour at Spanish restaurant Casa Dani.

The purpose of the Junior Advisory Committee is to help guide the Institute into the future, broaden its reach, and strengthen its mission among younger generations of Americans and Spanish-speaking young adults. Functioning as a non-binding think tank, the Committee will consist of at least eight members with no set maximum. Members will consist of young professionals across all industries and social spheres, such as but not limited to Science, Technology, Business, Sports, Music, Film, Fashion, Gastronomy, History, Education, Language, Literature, Fine Arts, and Media. The diverse group of up and coming leaders in their field will further the Institute’s yearly programming and overall growth through their differentiated skillsets, ideas, knowledge, and networks. There will be no age restriction for this Committee.

Activities of this committee include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending cultural outings and networking events such as exhibition tours, lectures, performances, dinners, etc.
  • Advising on the development of new and existing programs within the scope of the QSSI mission and recommending and/or serving as strategic partners for those programs
