The QSSI, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History (GLI) launches the Quizstory Podcast Award in the USA.
Students attending high school in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Department of Defense bases, or US Territories can compete for a spot in the Summer 2026 Camino de Santiago Program, a ten-day cultural and historical trip across northern Spain.
This student contest is part of America&Spain250, the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute’s national initiative highlighting the crucial contributions of Spain and the Spanish-speaking world to the American Revolution and the founding era of the United States. Through programs like the Quizstory Podcast Award, America&Spain250 seeks to deepen public understanding of this shared history while fostering new educational opportunities for the next generation.
How to Enter
Students are asked to create a 3–5 minute podcast, in any format, highlighting one or more historical figures featured in Quizstory: Spanish Friendship or exploring one or several historical events presented on the educational platform Spanish Influence on the American Revolution.
Each submission must also include an image of a related primary source (map, letter, painting, etc.).
Projects must be done in pairs; individual submissions or groups of more than two will not be accepted.
Students must hold a passport and be 16 or 17 years old by June 21, 2026. Full eligibility criteria and complete rules and regulations are available on GLI’s website.
