Begonia Santos, President and CEO of the QSSI, was interviewed on the National Broadcast Service of Spain (RNE) about the America&Spain250 initiative and its upcoming Washington, D.C., symposium.
On Monday, August 11th, the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute was featured on the English language broadcast of Radio Nacional de España in a special program titled The Queen Sofía Spanish Institute: Spain’s Legacy in the US.
During the interview, Begonia Santos, President and CEO of the Institute, shared insights into the origins and mission of the organization, highlighting its key areas of work.
She also spoke about the groundbreaking America&Spain250 initiative, which aims to shed light on Spain’s significant contributions to American history. In addition, Santos presented details about the upcoming symposium titled “Spain and the Birth of American Democracy,” set to take place in Washington, D.C., on September 19th and 20th, 2025.
This event held in partnership with the DAR and the Fundación Ramón Areces with the support of the Embassy of Spain in the United States will bring together experts and historians to explore Spain’s pivotal role in shaping the foundations of American democracy.
